More Q&As with Rossi: Three SKLs Built and Working

There continues to be a series of Q&As on the Journal of Nuclear Physics about the E-Cat SK Leonardo, and

One question was about the number of E-Cat SKLs that have been built:

November 29, 2019 at 7:43 AM
Dear Mr Rossi
I have just two questions :
1. How many working E-Cat SKL have you built ?

AR: three

2. Are they still working since last Saturday ?

AR: yes

Some more questions from Gerard McEk:

Dear Andrea,
Some remarks an questions, if I may:

1. Heat verses electricity is indeed very useful, but can also the output power of the ECat Leonardo be modulated? I know that you van put them in series and in parallel, but it would also be flexible if the Ecat output power can be modulated to some extend.

AR: yes

2. Will the verification test in January also include safety tests? If that is done it might be put on the market more easily, perhaps.

AR: yes

3. Can the single module of the Leonardo be built to any power, do you think?

AR: no

4. A 20 kWe/h unit might be the right size for many applications (domestic, cars and building bock for larger applications). I would recommend that size. Is that feasible?

AR: yes

I wish you many success with the further tests and the preparation for the verification test.
Thanks and kind regards, Gerard

In addition, yesterday I asked him about the group that Rossi has stated will be doing the testing of the E-Cat SKL in January. Ross has stated that it will be an ‘verifying entity’ that is known throughout the world. I asked him if this entity was “known for providing independent evaluation of products?”, and his answer was “Yes.”

SPACE . EARTH . HUMAN . Update (Bob Greenyer)

Thanks to Bob Greenyer for posting this comment in the Always Open thread.

SPACE . EARTH . HUMAN . is coming

Translation and proof reading finished (pending notes from Author). Book layout has begun.

Parkhomov in his book, calculates that you need approximately 100V + to start synthesising Neutrinos of the slow type needed for LENR. Now, hold that in mind when you look at Mondaini’s work here

Look at the threshold when the reaction changes. Now,

e + v + p + p > D

electron + slow neutrino + proton + proton > Deuterium*_from_FusionAll_where_E1eqHandE2eqHByMeV.html

This results in D and the abundance of OH that Mondaini, Ohmasa and Stankovic observed in their solutions/gasses and that Mondaini physically observed on his hands and from radio spectra.

As I said at ICCF-22, the 10 Yen coin was cut like a laser, at least in part, because the OH, IMHO, self-mased (Microwave ovens heat your food by vibrating the OH bonds in water – rest is obvious).

In the case of Mondaini’s observation of Si formation from Al, this is just Al fusion with the resulting D inside the EVOs.*_from_FusionAll_where_lbE1eqHorE1eqDrbandE2eqAlByMeVDesc.html

D is far more favourable energetically.

Rossi: 38 Watts Starts and Maintains the E-Cat SKL, Automatic Shutdown if No Load or Overload

Andrea Rossi has not provided details yet about the power produced by the E-Cat SK Leonardo, but today he has given information about the power it uses to operate and some other features.

Here is a Q&A from the Journal of Nuclear Physics today.

Dear Andrea Rossi,

May I ask you 2 questions, please.
What is the power necessary to start up the SKL ?
And what is the power necessary to maintain the closed loop of the SKL ?
Warm Regards.
Toussaint François

Andrea Rossi
November 28, 2019 at 9:23 AM
Toussaints Francois:
38 Watts for both.
Warm Regards,

He was also asked what happens if the load drops to zero, and thee ECW is still producing electricity. He replied, “If the load drops to zero the Ecat SK Leonardo will stop to operate.”

Regarding a question about what would happen if the SKL got overloaded he replied, “There are the normal protections against shorts and the Ecat, obviously, can sustain loads that do not overcome its power. If you lower the resistance beyond this limit, the amperage goes to zero and the Ecat shuts down.”

In another comment, a reader asked (in Italian) if there had been any cases of ‘divergence’ in the operation of the SKL. Rossi replied that following the startup they had not seen any malfunctions.

Rossi on Verifying the E-Cat SK Leonardo

Andrea Rossi has been making some more comments about how he intends to roll out the E-Cat SK Leonardo. In contrast with the presentation he made early this year where he himself spoke about the E-Cat SK and showed a prerecorded video, this time it sounds like he intends to let a third party examine the E-Cat, perform tests with it, and publish/present information about it.

Here are some comments he has made about this testing and presentation (emphasis added):

Andrea Rossi
November 26, 2019 at 10:47 AM
Stefano G.:
For many reasond the certification of efficiency has been decided by an entity that is specialized to test the efficiency of this kind of things. They are specialists and as far as I am concerned they can do what they want.To measure the Ecat SK Leonardo is very simple: no energy enters, electricity and heat exit. To measure the Wh through a load is simple, to measure the Joules at the input and the output of a heat exchanger is well known.
Warm Regards,

Andrea Rossi
November 26, 2019 at 12:58 PM
Frank Acland:
The certifications of the efficiency made by the entity that will make the test on the Ecat SK Leonardo.
Should be completed within January.
Warm Regards,

Andrea Rossi
November 26, 2019 at 6:09 PM
Karl Wieslander:
A so stupid and insulting comment comes obviously from a troll.
Usually I spam the rock and troll music, but this I wanted to publish for a more general issue: the Entity that will make the performance certification will have access to the black box, to verify what it contains for safety reasons. They will not have know how information about the connections and the logic of the control system.
So, in this case from a troll’s comment has been born a useful information, therefore I am publishing it.

Andrea Rossi
November 26, 2019 at 6:37 PM
Italo R.:
It is not necessary, but we want that the presentation is corroborated by a performance certification made by independent experts. This presentation will be strong and global and I want not to base it on my declaration, due to the importance of the issue. It is not necessary, but I want it.
Warm regards,

I think it’s clear here that Rossi understands that the claims he is making about the E-Cat SKL are very bold and hard to believe based on known science and technology, and for this reason, in order for him to be taken seriously, he has to let a third party verify what he is claiming. I would also think that any business partners he may have would see this kind of verification as a necessary step for commercial acceptance.

In terms of access to the inner workings of the SKL, Rossi seems to be happy to let the verifiers physically inspect the device to their hearts content, but not give them the secrets of the control system which is apparently the key to making the SKL work.

So far the timing of the presentation has not been announced. Yesterday Rossi stated that the work of the verifiers would take place in January, and based on how long it takes them to complete their work, it may be necessary to move the presentation to February.

Rossi States E-Cat SKL Runs in a Closed Loop and is Silent

Here are a couple of questions put to Andrea Rossi about characteristics of the E-Cat SK Leonardo. The first, from me, about whether the SKL was running in a closed loop.

Frank Acland
November 25, 2019 at 8:15 AM
Dear Andrea,

In your test this Saturday, was the E-Cat SK Leonardo operating without being connected to any external power source? In other words, was it operating in a closed loop (producing enough power to sustain itself)?

Andrea Rossi
November 25, 2019 at 10:41 PM
Frank Acland:
Yes, the Ecat SK Leonardo works in closed loop, producing enough electric energy to sustain itself, plus electric energy to power for example an engine, or whatever you want, reaching any power just assembling ,ore modules to put in series and parallels. Here stays the revolution.
Warm Regards,

The other question was about the noise levels of the E-Cat SKL:

Donald G Chandler
November 25, 2019 at 1:32 PM
Dear Dr Rossi

Congratulations on your announced success with electricity generating SSM ecat.
Can you tell us how quiet or noisy this device is?
1. Fan noise?
2. Relay noise?
3. Inverter/magnetic hum?
4. Other?
5. What decibel measurement? Or comparison. E.g. like a desktop computer?

Andrea Rossi
November 25, 2019 at 1:49 PM
Donald G.Chandler:
No noise at all
Warm Regards

It all sounds rather unbelievable, some might say too good to be true, but speaking for myself, I think it is likely his claims are true. Of course it needs to be demonstrated and that’s something we need to see.

The best way that I conceptualize this is that Rossi has invented a new kind of battery that operates on new principles but does essentially the same kind of things that we are used to batteries doing: producing electric current. Like a traditional battery, it will eventually run out charge and will need to be replaced or recharged.

If it is closed loop and silent it wouldn’t surprise me if over time the E-Cat SKL was engineered into something as small as a AAA battery and could be incorporated into everyday portable consumer products as well as larger appliances and vehicles.

The Holy Grail of Plasma Energy ready for fighting Climate Change? (

The following post was published on the site and is reposted here by permission. Link to the original article is:

The global public is not aware yet. Also not Greta Thunberg and the climate movement nor the large majority of world leaders and main parts of science and enterprise-communities. Only a limited number of dedicated researchers and global followers are aware and already know that November 23, 2019, could become a great day in the history of science. The day for the first unofficial announcement of a successful practical implementation of a new revolutionary version of a clean plasma energy process. When confirmed it should be expected to become a major tool in the fight against climate change. Note that clean here stands for no harmful radiation or emission from either process, fuel or waste.

The Quest for Holy Grail of Plasma Energy

When the claims the last days published by Andrea Rossi, CEO of Leonardo Corp, will be proven true, the long quest for ideal clean plasma energy seems to have been crowned by a final success. This type of new clean nuclear energy is normally referred to as Cold-Fusion or more recently also as LENR energy. The new clean energy module Ecat-SKL is described as a further developed version of the Ecat-SK, which was presented already last January. The new SKL plasma generator module ( L for Leonardo), while only needing a battery to start from, was on November 23 claimed to be successfully running 24/7 completely disconnected from any input power and still continuously generating electrical power and heat at kW level. The below list of recent claims from Andrea Rossi, when proven true, could make Ecat-SKL the ideal clean plasma energy source so very much needed in the fight against climate change :

– No direct CO2 emissions
– No hazardous radiation emitted
– No radioactive waste or fuel
– Very low CO2 footprint [kg/kWh] from generator and fuel
– Used fuel will be renewed in a factory process

– WITHOUT any need for external power ( heat or electric) SKL module can run 24/7 delivering kW levels of energy, more than 70% of it as electricity and the rest as heat
– The amount of electricity versus heat is user selectable
– Very low consumption of low-cost and factory renewable fuel ( NI-Li-H )
– Easy to combine (serial/parallel) unlimited numbers of modules to any required
power level
– Modules are low-cost design and fully prepared for mass production

What remains now as the next step is for Leonardo Corp. to arrange a live demonstration and performance test in the presence of trustworthy external parties. The fact that running the SKL generator module requires no outside wired connection at all should make it quite easy to arrange a convincing demonstration. Given the performance of Ecat-SKL, this remarkable source of energy will fit virtually any single application where there is needed electricity and/or heat. And this in every case without any external supply from power lines or heating.
The full implications of this new technology when fully proven and realized will be more than revolutionary.

All Concerned about our Planet Need to Know

We are now already many involved around the world eagerly waiting for more information on how this new clean plasma energy will be managed to an optimal positive impact on climate change. While waiting for that, we should immediately take any opportunity to spread this encouraging news further to all people we know as also being concerned about the environment, climate change and the whole future of our civilization. There is no need to wait for the full verification of this or any other energy project.

The global many, now fighting for a future and still seeing no real actions, need to become aware that something is really happening. That there is going on a lot of serious work on a new clean and revolutionary energy source and that more than just promising results are recently reported.

E-Cat SKL Power Output is ’70-80% Electricity’, Testing by ‘Well Known World Institution’ Comes Ne

We know that Andrea Rossi’s recent goal has been to be able to produce not only heat, but electricity with the E-Cat SK Leonardo. And on Saturday he claimed that “we got more electric energy that the electric energy necessary to make the Cat work.”

Since he posted the initial statement he has given a little more information about this. He was asked what percentage of the output power of the E-Cat SKL was electricity. He replied “Most of the production is electricity. 70-80%.”

Beyond that, he hasn’t provided many more details about the test. When he was asked about the weight and size of the E-Cat SKL, and about the amount of power produced he replied, “the data of the Ecat SK leonardo will be published after the tests of an independent party.”

And regarding this independent party he wrote, “These data will not be given by me, but by an independent well known and recognized in all the world institution at the end of a series of independent tests.”

So after nearly nine years since Rossi and Focardi first went public with the E-Cat, we are back into the familiar situation of waiting for further information.

Statement of Andrea Rossi: “We Did It, Obtained Permanent Self Sustaining Mode”

Here is a statement made on The Journal of Nuclear Physics by Andrea Rossi this evening:

Andrea Rossi
November 23, 2019 at 9:43 PM
Dear Readers of the JoNP:
We did it.
Obtained permanent self sustaining mode with production of strong excess of electricity, generating more excess of electricity than of heat.
It is a revolution.
We did not violate unity, we just discovered an energy that had not been exploited before.
I am very tired.
Independent parties tests will follow, eventually we will make a presentation.
I think we made something that will make a revolution.
My team colleagues are saying to me ” Andrea, stay calm, be humble”. They are right. Now I am tired, must reorganize the ideas. The work in these last 2 weeks has been very hard, but we did it. This morning, late, we got more electric energy that the electric energy necessary to make the Cat work. The increase is strong.
Too big to be true, but it is true.
If you are reading this message, means I am not dreaming: our Readers are independent parties that can convince me I am not sleeping and I am really writing this.
The merit is of my fantastic Team, without them this could not have been done.
Warm Regards,

Particle X17 Could be Evidence of “Fifth Force” of Nature

Thanks to neitsnie for the link to a CNN article reporting that a research team from the Institute for Nuclear Research at the Hungarian Academy of Sciences (Atomki) led by physicist Attila Krasznahorkay claim to have observed a particle they call X17 which they think could connect our visible world with the world of dark matter. They found the particle when they observed how light emitted from an excited helium split at an angle of 115 degrees, which is not in keeping with the laws of known physics. Previously they had observed electrons and positrons splitting from a beryllium-8 atom at 140 degrees, again unusual according to physics.

These findings are leading some to conclude that there is a fifth force of nature at work (in addition to gravity, electromagnetism, the strong nuclear force and the weak nuclear force.

The CNN article titled “A ‘no-brainer Nobel Prize’: Hungarian scientists may have found a fifth force of nature” is here:

The news article references a paper on titled “New evidence supporting the existence of the hypothetic X17 particle”

We observed electron-positron pairs from the electro-magnetically forbidden M0 transition depopulating the 21.01 MeV 0 state in 4He. A peak was observed in their e+e angular correlations at 115 with 7.2σ significance, and could be described by assuming the creation and subsequent decay of a light particle with mass of mXc2=16.84±0.16(stat)±0.20(syst) MeV and ΓX3.9×105 eV. According to the mass, it is likely the same X17 particle, which we recently suggested [Phys. Rev. Lett. 116, 052501 (2016)] for describing the anomaly observed in 8Be.
